This is a personal website written and edited by me, Yuko, and it is an ongoing journal of stories, recipes, interviews, and thoughts. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely mine. There may be guest posts in the ‘KounterIntellignece’ category, where it will be the guests’ contribution and it will be identified as ‘guest author’.

My interest is to introduce and highlight the various types of foods, drinks, specialty items, food related items made around the world, the people that make them, and the traditions that I find interesting. My goal of this blog is to give readers a look at various aspects of food culture, and follow along on things that are part of my life, including my travels of vacations, work and other trips.

I don’t accept any form of cash advertising or paid topic insertions and nothing in any of the posts on the blog has been placed there because payment exchanged hands. There are no sponsored posts on this site.

Food eaten at restaurants mentioned or reviewed on this site is paid for by me. In cases where the meal was complimentary, I usually mention in the post that I was invited by the host. I may receive a complimentary dish or drink but that is the upside of being polite and pleasant. I have been getting freebies from restaurants since I was 3. Whether I receive anything for free or not, it has no influence on my opinion and what I write about.

The write up about restaurants on this site are intended for informational purposes. To share about the places I’ve visited and enjoyed so I rarely mention places in a negative light.

If you plan to visit any of the places mentioned, always check to find out the most recent information. Things happen and there may be changes in hours, location etc.

Some recipes were developed by me and others I have borrowed or borrowed and tweaked. I list the attribution at the bottom of the recipe.

I don’t recommend products, whether given to me as gifts or that I’ve purchased, if they’re not something that I would personally purchase and use myself. I will only endorse products or services that I believe, based on my knowledge and experience, are worthy of such endorsement and not because I’ve received cash in exchange for the endorsement. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider.

The intention of this site is to learn and share, not intended to offend, but to highlight and embrace the variety and cultural differences. Hopefully to entertain and expand the reader’s knowledge through an enriching experience.
